Flower & Plant Care
Fresh Flowers
- Place at area with partial sunlight
- Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle to keep the flower hydrated
- Trim the bottom of the stem every couple days
- Change the water in your vase with fresh, cold water
- Add flower food into your vase and follow the instructions on the packet. (optional)
- Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources
Preserved Flowers
- Store the preserved flowers in a well ventilated area and avoid aircon room.
- Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- Avoid contact with water and moisture
Houseplants
- Light : Place your plant near a light source or indirect sunlight.
- Water : Water every 1– 2 weeks. To avoid overwatering of plant, water only when the top of the soil is dry. Frequency of watering will depend on the size and type of plant and pot.
- Fertilizer : Feed with fertilizer once a month when plants are flowering or growing.
Outdoor Plants
- Light : Place your plant under direct sunlight or semi-shade.
- Water : Water 1 – 2 times a day, depending on the plant species and the size of your pot.
- Fertilizer : To keep plants blooming, fertilize occasionally with a water-soluble fertilizer or organic fertilzer. Fertilize them once every week.
Succulents
- Light : Succulents love light, so place them under sunlight or under indirect sunlight.
- Water : Water every 1 – 2 weeks. To avoid overwatering of plant, water only when the top of the soil is dry.
- Fertilizer : Add a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or sprinkle solid fertilizer over the soil.
Herbs
- Light : Most herbs grow best in full sun. Place your herbs where they will receive at least 6 – 8 hours of direct sunlight each day.
- Water : Water 1 – 2 times a week. To avoid overwatering of plant, water only when the top of the soil is dry.
- Fertilizer : Feed with organic fertilizer weekly. For chemical fertilizers, use it once every two weeks.
Air Plants
- Light : Place your plant near sunlight or under indirect sunlight.
- Water : Soak your air plant in room temperature tap water for an hour once a week and shake off any excess water from your plant.
- Fertilizer : Feed with fertilizer monthly.
Orchids - Phalaenopsis, Mokara and Dendrobium
- Light : Place your orchid in a bright room, but not under direct sunlight.
If leaves turn yellow or splotchy, it indicates that the plant is getting too much light. - Water : Water 1 – 2 times a week
Do allow potting medium to dry out between waterings.
Check the potting medium with your finger - if you feel moisture do not water. Remember to use a well draining pot and growing media. - Fertilizer : Add liquid orchid fertilizer once a month.
If your orchid is in their flowering phase, fertilizer is not needed. - Humidity : Orchids do not like dry air, so be sure to maintain humidity around the plant from 50 –70%.
